Corvallis, Oregon resident’s ZAP car powered by sun
It’s always great to read about how ZAP customers are using their vehicles. Here’s a great article from the Gazette Times out of Corvallis, Oregon about Jonathan Carroll who plugs his ZAP car into his solar home. Oregon has been a hot-bed of electric car early adopters. Here’s a real-life story of someone who is getting paid big dividends to live a simpler lifestyle. “Unlike many homeowners, he paid off his mortgage on his 40th birthday – a personal goal – and it costs him precious little to maintain it. The home – like much in Carroll’s life – is powered by the sun,” according to the article. Carroll says he never has to pay for electricity and reportedly generates four times the amount he needs. Detractors often say that electric vehicles simply replace your tailpipe for a power plant and that they aren’t necessarily “zero emissions,” but Carroll here is a living, breathing example of how we can strive to push towards the ideal of driving on zero emissions.
